The surgery is to introduce a ‘sit and wait’ service for new onset illnesses to be run by our Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
The Sit and wait clinic is for patients who need to be seen with a new onset illness that needs to be seen urgently/soon. One urgent issue will be dealt with at this appointment. This service is not for ongoing or multiple complaints. The aim is to keep the service running smoothly with minimum waiting times.
Although called the ‘sit and wait’ service we do not anticipate waits of longer than 30 minutes.
Our Advanced Nurse Practitioners have many years experience in GP surgeries and have provided out of hours care and are able to prescribe medication. However, if you have an ongoing condition, it is advised you see your own GP.
We may be able to help diagnose some conditions over the phone with the aid of pictures and questionnaires for example, urine infections, skin infections and acute tonsillitis. Our receptionist will be able to help you find the most suitable appointment.
